Production is starting at last on the third and final series of the award-winning ITV series Broadchurch. David Tennant and Olivia Colman are back one last time as mismatched detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller reunite to investigate a serious sexual assault.

Filming on the new series will return to familiar locations in West Bay in Dorset and Clevedon in Somerset, both of which are locations for the fictional seaside town of Broadchurch. Today, @ClevedonPierG1, the Twitter feed of the Clevedon Pier & Heritage Site, posted photos of some store fronts from the town dressed ready for filming. One is set up as a taxi office, the other a fabric store complete with floating ice creams.

In addition, new cast member Charlie Higson has posted a photo that he claims is his Broadchurch dressing room on his first day on set - although as we've come to expect from the Broadchurch team, nothing is given away:

Alongside David and Olivia, Arthur Darvill, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Carolyn Pickles and Adam Wilson will be back on set for series three. The new episodes also boast an influx of new faces: Charlie Higson will be joined by Julie Hesmondhalgh, Georgina Campbell, Mark Bazeley and Sarah Parish.

The much-anticipated third series of Broadchurch is expected to reach screens in the UK early in 2017.
