And this means that they also support the current (and elected) government of Syria, and therefore opposed to the U.S. This is a very big development and clearly intended as a signal to the U.S.
Ever since the return of the Syrian war in 2015, which has seen both US alliance forces and as - of last - September, Russian forces too, jousting for political influence in the region under the guise of fighting ISIS while in reality either seeking to oust or preserve the Assad regime, one major player was missing: China.
That is about to change as the last major superpower enters the world's most volatile - and dangerous - region.
Beijing and Damascus have agreed that the Chinese military will have closer ties with Syria, and provide humanitarian aid to the civil war torn nation, a high-ranking People's Liberation Army officer said, adding that the training of Syrian personnel by Chinese instructors has also been discussed, according to Xinhua.
As has been historically the case, China tends to leave Middle Eastern diplomacy to the other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, namely the United States, Britain, France and Russia, while relying on the region for oil supplies. But lately, for unknown reasons, China has been trying to get more involved, including sending envoys to help push for a diplomatic resolution to the violence there and hosting Syrian government and opposition figures according to Reuters.
The Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation of China's Central Military Commission, Guan Youfei, arrived in Damascus on Tuesday for talks with Syrian Defense Minister Fahad Jassim al-Freij, Xinhua added.
Guan said China had consistently played a positive role in pushing for a political resolution in Syria.
"China and Syria's militaries have a traditionally friendly relationship, and China's military is willing to keep strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Syria's military," the news agency paraphrased Guan...
As to who China will side with, it should come as little surprise that the answer is "not the US."
Last year, there were media reports that China had sent dozens of
military advisers to Syria to help the country fight terrorists, however these were never confirmed.
military advisers to Syria to help the country fight terrorists, however these were never confirmed.
This time, however, we have confirmation. Guan met a Russian general in Damascus, Xinhua reported without giving details.
Which means that as of this moment, every major world superpower is officially involved in the Syrian war, which has on various occasions been aptly called a powderkeg for what may be the next global military conflict - to be sure, all required players are now officially involved.
Vietnam was not enough to dissuade this administration from inserting itself into the internal affairs of another Southeast Asian nation. The present blood bath in Syria is not enough to discourage US involvement in a brewing civil war. In fact, this administration is up to its old tricks by fermenting a civil war in order to get the corrupt leader it wants back in power and they do not care how many Americans, or people in this country, must die in the process. And the real elite, the real people who start every war, profit from supplying both sides of every war, are jumping for joy at their new-found great adventure.
Thailand has been the victim of several false flag attacks, allegedly sponsored by the Obama Administration. The purpose of these false flag attacks is to restore control of the government back into the hands of the corrupt, drug-running, child-trafficking, gun-running former Prime Minister.
On August 11-12, within a 24 hour window, several bombs detonated in four separate regions of Thailand. The impacted areas included Trang, the tourist nation of Hua Hin, Phuket, and Surat Thani. Several deaths occurred as a result of these well-coordinated false flag events sponsored by US government.
False flag events? Absolutely, and one of the best circumstantial clues is the manner in which MSM is handling this strife-dead silence. Who is Yingluck Shinawatra? Why did the Thai people oust him from power?
What the Western media intentionally is omitting, however, or ambiguously referring to dozens of paragraphs down within their respective reports, is that the primary suspects are instead the US-backed opposition headed by ousted ex-Prime Minster Thaksin Shinawatra, his Pheu Thai political party (PTP), and his ultra-violent street front, the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), also known as “red shirts.”
The TPP has entered the picture, with regard to Thailand’s current dilemma. The former regime wanted to be included in the emerging TPP before the former Prime Minister was ousted from power. My source told me that the TPP, which of course represents rule by corporation and not elected government. The corporate rule would allow Thailand’s vast drug and child-sex empire to be controlled by corporate rule without the overt influence of any elected government. The people’s actions which removed the former Prime Minister prevented the TPP and Thailand from forming a legal and binding relationship. The reader may justifiably ask if there is any proof of these claims of TPP corruption? The answer is a resounding, yes! However, one must rely on Eastern media for the facts, because the truth will never be told in the Western media.
There is one more small matter and that is China. I have previously noted that China is blocking TPP trade routes with the creation of militarized islands in the South China Sea. The Western media will report China’s seemingly senseless position on the South China Sea and the real threat of World War III. In the context of the controversy in Thailand and the emerging establishment of of a corporate controlled mafia in their backyard, China has drawn a line in the sand, and now we know why. Why was China cut out of the TPP? The answer is simple, the Chinese would not sacrifice their sovereignty in favor of Western corporate rule. And now this new mafia has come to China’s back door and the result could be World War III.
Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced Tuesday that Iran is letting Russia use its infrastructure to fight against terrorism in Syria, IRNA reported.
According to TASS, citing a Russian Defense Ministry report, “Long-range bombers Tupolev-22M3 and frontline bombers Sukhoi-34 took off from the Hamadan air base in Iran carrying the full bomb load to deal a massive air strike against facilities of the terrorist groups Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra in Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor and Idlib provinces.”
The bombers destroyed five large armament depots, three command posts and militants’ training camps used by terrorists for operations in Aleppo, the report said.
The report added that Russia’s Sukhoi-30SM and Sukhoi-35 from the Hmeymim base in Syria provided protection, and “all planes coped with their tasks and returned to base.”
This is the first time Russian planes have used an Iranian airfield for the operation in Syria. On all previous occasions Russia’s long-range bombers operated from airfields in Russia, and front-line bombers flew out of Hmeymim in Syria.
Talk about unusual. On Aug. 10, the U.S. Air Force announced it had sent its B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to join older, non-stealthy B-52 Stratofortresses and B-1 Lancers on Guam.
It's an extraordinary show of force in the Pacific region, because for the first time ever, America has based all three heavy bomber types on the island at once.
Deborah Lee James, the Air Force secretary, described the deployments as providing a "valuable opportunity for our bomber crews to integrate and train together, as well as with our allies and partners through the region in a variety of missions."
But James did not elaborate on just how unusual the arrangement actually is, nor did she expand on any deeper possible reasons for basing Spirits, Lancers, and Stratofortresses at the same base at same time — all within striking distance of China and North Korea.
The latest deployment began on Aug. 6 when a group of B-1s arrived at Guam to take over from the B-52s. These aircraft were part of what the Pentagon calls the "Continuous Bomber Presence" mission, or CBP. The B-52s will head back to the continental United States at the end of August.
On Aug. 10, the B-2s landed for a separate but similar "bomber assurance and deterrence deployment," or BAAD. We don't know when the stealth bombers and their crews will return home to their base in Missouri.
In July, Beijing sent one of its own H-6K bombers to fly over the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea. That month, among a host of other rulings, a U.N. tribunal declared Chinese ships had illegally blocked Philippine fisherman from entering the area.
China's nominally civilian maritime police force has routinely blocked foreign activities around Scarborough and other small islands to help reinforce Beijing's claims. Chinese officials have also recently boasted about a slew of new, deadly surface to air and ballistic missiles that could challenge American planes and ships.
Amid ongoing tensions in the East China Sea, Japan’s coast guard has released video showing Chinese vessels entering disputed waters near the Senkaku Islands.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Tokyo has plans to develop new land-to-sea missiles to be deployed to the southernmost point of Okinawa prefecture. With a range of 186 miles, the projectiles could easily reach the Senkakus.
"In light of China’s repeated acts of provocation around the Senkaku islands, Japan aims to increase deterrence with improved long-range strike capability," Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun said.
On Monday, the Japan Coast Guard released footage that claims to show these provocations.
Allegedly occurring between August 5 and 9, the video documents 28 separate breaches of territorial waters claimed by Japan. The breaches includes several Chinese fishing boats, but also Chinese coast guard ships.
"Your ship has intruded into the territorial waters of our country," says an electronic message sent from the Japanese patrol ship Aguni to one of the Chinese vessels, according to the Japan Times.
According to a statement released by the Japan Coast Guard, 18 Chinese vessels were equipped with machine guns.
"Actions by the Chinese side like this, which will escalate the situation, is not tolerable," the statement said.
