Deadline reports that David Tennant has been named as the second most popular celebrity in his home country of Scotland in a new poll which saw more than 1,000 Scots asked to pick their favourite from a list of 16 celebrities.

Wimbledon winner and Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray topped the poll, with David coming in second place with 10% of the overall votes cast.  However David was the most popular with voters in the 35 - 44 age bracket with 15% of the votes.

Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor came in third with 8% of the vote with Harry Potter author JK Rowling and James Bond actor Sir Sean Connery tied on 7%.
