Awards season can bring disappointments as frequently as successes, and unquestionably many fans of David Tennant were dismayed to see him and his critically acclaimed Netflix series Marvel's Jessica Jones passed over for Emmy honours this year. Fortunately viewers now have the power to show their love for the critically acclaimed comic book adaptation and its stars. Entertainment Weekly have today announced the nominees for the Poppy Awards, the fan-voted television awards set up to honour Emmy-snubbed favourites. 

In the Drama Category, David Tennant is among the nominees for Best Supporting Actor for his chilling depiction in Jessica Jones of the supervillain Kilgrave. His co-star Krysten Ritter, who played the titular Jessica, is nominated as Best Actress, and the show is listed as Best Series.

Marvel's Jessica Jones is a thirteen part adaptation of the Brian Michael Bendis comic book series Alias, adapted by Melissa Rosenberg and also starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor and Mike Colter. It is available to watch in its entirety on Netflix.
