Earlier today David Tennant conducted a phone interview with Radio 4's World At One programme. He chatted to host Martha Kearney about his time in BBC One's sci fi series Doctor Who and spoke about current Doctor Peter Capaldi's decision to quit the TARDIS at the end of the year.
Speaking about playing the role of the Tenth Doctor David said: "It's a very full on job, it's very intense. It's a job unlike any other. It's a huge honour to be carrying that mantle."
Talking about Peter he said: "He's like a wizard he has incredible intensity, bravery, a cleverness. He was a fantastic choice, he will be missed."

Peter issued his statement about his intention to leave the role last night.
He said: "One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best. From our brilliant crew and creative team working for the best broadcaster on the planet, to the viewers and fans whose endless creativity, generosity and inclusiveness points to a brighter future ahead. I can’t thank everyone enough. It’s been cosmic."
Doctor Who will return to BBC One in April.
