A strike on an airbase near Damascus blamed on Israel killed high-ranking Syrian officials, activists there said Friday, according to a Saudi report.

Activists quoted by the al-Arabiya news outlet said several high-ranking officials in the regime of Syrian president Bashar Assad were killed in the bombing on the military airport to the southwest of Damascus.

“At 3:00 a.m., the Israeli enemy fired several surface-to-surface missiles from inside occupied territory,” the state news agency SANA said, citing a military source. It claimed the missiles had been fired from near the Sea of Galilee
The regime source also threatened “repercussions” against Israel over the “flagrant” strikes.
Several local media outlets reported ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The Lebanese al-Meyadeen news outlet reported that the strike targeted a weapons depot at the strategic base, wounding four soldiers.
Mazzeh is located near Assad’s presidential palace and has been used by troops and elite forces to shell rebel-held areas during the country’s civil war.

American soldiers rolled into Poland on Thursday, fulfilling a dream some Poles have had since the fall of communism in 1989 to have US troops on their soil as a deterrent against Russia.

US and other Western nations have carried out exercises on NATO's eastern flank in past years, but the new deployment — which includes some 3,500 US troops — marks the first-ever continuous deployment to the region by a NATO ally.

It is part of a larger commitment by President Barack Obama to protect a region that grew deeply nervous when Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and then began backing separatist rebels in Ukraine's east.

Nearly two months into the assault, Turkey has become bogged down in an unexpectedly bloody fight to retake the Islamic State group's last stronghold in northern Syria. It has been forced to pour in troops, take the lead in the battle from its Syrian allies and reach out to Russia for aerial support.

The fight for al-Bab underscores the precarious path Ankara is treading with its foray in to Syria, aimed against both IS militants and Syrian Kurdish fighters. The assault on the town had already driven a wedge between Turkey and the United States, and now the realignment toward Moscow — which supports the government in Syria's civil war — further tests Ankara's alliance both with Washington and with the Syrian opposition.

The U.S. sent an entire armored brigade to the Russian border, and Vladimir Putin is preparing as if for war. Missile defense systems are raised; tall claims and serious charges have been leveled; diplomatic relations have chilled to a permafrost. Several Russian diplomats have turned up dead recently, including one murdered in front of cameras during a dramatic assassination in Turkey. Russia has bucked U.S. order in the Middle East, and carved out a potential peace deal in Syria without their consultation.

Things are reaching a flashpoint, and the system is concerned about controlling President-elect Trump given his rumored friendliness with Putin and plans to drop sanctions.

Will there be a “shock” designed to correct Trump’s foreign policy, and set-off the ticking time bomb between East and West into all-out hostilities?

Though these two world powers have clashed repeatedly in recent years, there several key factors that make this round extra alarming – and put a peaceful transition into question of exploding into total war, and an undermining force from within the deep state, CIA and shadow government:

Emergency officials urged about 2,000 people to evacuate from their homes in Northern California on Wednesday because a river threatened to burst its banks.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department advised people in Wilton -- a rural community near Sacramento -- to consider leaving Tuesday evening because a Cosumnes River levee in Sacramento County was projected to overflow its banks. Emergency crews and officials were attempting to improve the levee.
The river is expected to reach its highest levels since the floods of 1997 when it reached 18.5 feet, according to the National Weather Service. The levees broke in 17 places and 300 homes were flooded then.

An organizer for one of the numerous hard left groups planning mass riots in and around Washington D.C. during the inauguration of Donald Trump has revealed that they do not believe in a peaceful transition between Obama and the president-elect.

Legba Carrefour, an organizer for DisruptJ20, told Reuters Wednesday that her group planned predawn blockades and disruptions during the evening inaugural balls on top of the protests during the actual inauguration.

It was then made clear that this is not about peacefully protesting but rather part of a larger attempt to literally steal the election.
“Some 300 DisruptJ20 volunteers will work to mobilize demonstrators for a series of protests the group has dubbed the “Festival of Resistance,” reported Reuters.
“We are not in favor of a peaceful transition of power, and we need to stop it,” Carrefour continued.

NASA has released a graphic showing a rip in the fabric of the sun, so to speak, that is leaking solar radiation through a hole in its surface.
This is sending a bombardment of particles towards earth that could interfere with the electric grid and disrupt any technologies that are electromagnetic based.
Space-weather forecasters issued a ‘G2 alert’, the second lowest classification on the geomagnetic storm scale… the resulting geomagnetic storm, while minor, could have some effects on satellites and the power grid.

‘The principal users affected by geomagnetic storms are the electrical power grid, spacecraft operations, users of radio signals that reflect off of or pass through the ionosphere, and observers of the aurora,’ the NOAA said.

A shallow magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Thursday evening 14 miles from Hawthorne, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:17 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 mile.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 55 miles from Gardnerville Ranchos, Nev., 68 miles from South Lake Tahoe, Calif., 69 miles from Carson City, Nev., and 83 miles from Fernley, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been five earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.

Public health officials from Nevada are reporting on a case of a woman who died in Reno in September from an incurable infection. Testing showed the superbug that had spread throughout her system could fend off 26 different antibiotics.
“It was tested against everything that’s available in the United States … and was not effective,” said Dr. Alexander Kallen, a medical officer in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s division of health care quality promotion.
Although this isn’t the first time someone in the US has been infected with pan-resistant bacteria, at this point, it is not common. It is, however, alarming.
“I think this is the harbinger of future badness to come,” said Dr. James Johnson, a professor of infectious diseases medicine at the University of Minnesota and a specialist at the Minnesota VA Medical Center.
Other scientists are saying this case is yet another sign that researchers and governments need to take antibiotic resistance seriously. It was reportedThursday in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, a journal published by the CDC.
