David Tennant has told Digital Spy that he thinks Doctor Who will go 'from strength to strength" when his Broadchurch boss, Chris Chibnall, takes over the reigns of the hit Sci-fi series.
Not only that but the former Doctor reckons that Chris was "possibly the only choice" to replace Steven Moffat in the role of showrunner.
"I think it was an inevitability that the world would turn to Chris," said David. "It's a big, massive, difficult job and it needs someone who is as enthusiastic and talented as Chris."

And Chris, who previously penned the episode 42 for David's Doctor, has a huge task on his hands as his first job is casting a new Doctor after Peter Capaldi announced his decision to quit the show last month.

Doctor Who will return to BBC One on Saturday 15th April for Peter's final series.
Chris' award winning drama Broadchurch starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman returns to ITV on Monday 27th February at 9pm
