AUDIO: David Tennant On Good Omens' Crowley And Aziraphale
Yesterday afternoon, David Tennant was interviewed by Zoe Ball for her show on BBC Radio 2. During his chat, David gave a brief update on his involvement with the greatly anticipated Amazon Prime series Good Omens.
The show is a six-part adaptation of the comic novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, the latter of whom has written the screenplay and is acting as showrunner. The story is set at the brink of the Apocalypse and revolves around an unlikely partnership striving to prevent the end of the world. David, who has just wrapped shooting on the series in South Africa, plays Crowley, a demon, opposite Michael Sheen who plays an angel called Aziraphale.
David explained how the good and evil divide between the two protagonists is not that clear cut.
"They're both a little yin and yang, to be honest," he stated. "That's why they get on so well. They've lived through the millennia with the human race, and I'm supposed to be there tempting them and he's supposed to be there keeping them out of trouble. Inevitably, we've ended up farming out assignments on each other...and then we team up to avert the Apocalypse."
David also went on to inform that the show would not be seen for another year, in part due to the amount of special effects that would be going into it.
"They're still filming in South Africa now and they've got another couple of weeks to go," he said. Every shot's got something extraordinary to be added in."
