HBO have shared a photo of the cast of their new limited comedy series Camping on Twitter as production gets under way.

Jennifer Garner leads the cast as Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, an obsessively organised and controlling LA mum who is far less fun than her Lululemons imply.

David Tennant plays Walt, Kathryn's obedient husband and father to her children, around whose birthday celebrations the story revolves. He's the reliable lynchpin of his family and social group, but he's starting to harbour a growing resentment.

Other cast confirmed are Juliette Lewis, Janicza Bravo, Arturo Del Puerto, Brett Gelman, Ione Skye and Bridget Everett.

The show is scripted by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, and is based on the UK sitcom of the same name created by Julia Davis, the pair will also act as showrunners for the US adaptation.

Camping centres on a delightful weekend expedition to get back to nature and mark Walt's 45th birthday. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten. Plus, bears.

Camping is expected to debut in the 2018-19 pilot season on HBO. As yet there is no information available about plans to broadcast the show in other countries.
