Genesis 12:2-3, “Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing. (3) I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly, I must curse, and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name. (NET – all emphasis is mine)
This is known as the Abrahamic Covenant, and it is still in effect today. Matter of fact, it will be in effect through the Millennial Kingdom and into our final eternity. It was passed on from Abraham to Isaac, Jacob (Israel), King David all the way to the Savior, Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, a new covenant was formed for all who would accept and believe in Him; however, this did not stop God’s covenant with Abraham.
Though God’s chosen have disappointed Him throughout the ages by worshiping other gods and committing evil acts, He has never gone back on His word. He has disciplined them, and sometimes severely – Babylonian captivity, Fall of Jerusalem AD70 and others – but as promised, He has never allowed them to be totally eliminated. The antichrist will do his best to completely eliminate them in the Tribulation, but will fail.
Since the diaspora (exile, dispersion) of the Jews to other nations after AD70, it was not until 1948 that they were once again in their own land, and declared Israel as an independent nation. The United States was first to recognize Israel by President Harry Truman. Since that time, it’s been evident they have had divine protection as they have been attacked several times by much larger nations, and they have survived. The 6-day war was amazing to try and keep up with. Today, they have a very formidable military force, and are not taken for granted. No other nation on earth has ever come back after such a long period of time as this.
Though we have seen God’s hand in keeping Israel independent, alive and well, the Father has not given them His full attention yet. That is to come. Meanwhile, as prophesied, their land has turned from desolate to fertile, and they export fruits, vegetables, wine and other products to many nations. There have been discoveries of massive gas and oil deposits recently that are very significant. People are making “Aliyah” constantly from all over the world; that is Jewish descendants immigrating to their home land. Yet, the messianic Jews, those who accept Jesus as their Messiah, are only about 1% to 2% of the total world Jewish population.
Even though we hear of terrorist attacks, and units like Hamas and Hezbollah are making constant threats of violence, the people in Israel are living in relative peace and harmony. Any threats or active incidents are met with military force almost immediately. They are more prosperous than ever before, which is becoming a very great temptation for other nations around them. To live in Chicago is more dangerous than in Israel these days.
Israel is being blamed by world organizations for any acts of violence in that area, even though they are normally the victim, not the aggressor. The United States, with our current President, is on the side of the Israelites, but the majority of the rest of the world condemns their every action. They even try to tell Israel what they must do with their land, and how to do it. Our previous administration was obviously against Israel, and had that political party continued to be in control, it would have only gone further downhill.
God’s timing is always perfect, no matter what we may think. End times events are exactly as the Bible said they would be, and Romans 11:25 is just about here. “For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited; a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the full number of Gentiles has come in.” This will be the end of the Church age which will be “announced” by the Rapture of all believers.
The covenant of the cross has been here since the death, burial, resurrection and ascension (Rapture) of our Savior. Because of this, all (everyone from all over the earth) who call on the name of the Lord, will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) This covenant extends to all the Jewish people as well, even though it is not widely accepted at this time by them. After the taking up (Rapture) of all believers by our Savior, the Father will turn His full attention back on all of His chosen people. There will again be severe discipline as about 2/3 will be martyred in the 7-year Tribulation as given in Zechariah 13:8, “It will happen in all the land, says the Lord, that 2/3 of the people will be cut off and die, but 1/3 2ill be kept in it.”
One point to consider, the tribulation will be God’s wrath taken out on this evil world that will be under the control of satan through the antichrist and false prophet. It will also be a time of refinement when the Jews come to realize Yeshua (Jesus) is the true Messiah, and by the end of the tribulation years, 100% of them will believe. There will be a remnant that God will provide protection from the evil forces even though satan does his best to destroy them all.
Zechariah 13:8 tells that a lot of Jews will be killed, but Zechariah 12:2-3;9 demonstrates God is in full control. “I am about to make Jerusalem a cup that brings dizziness (temptation) to all surrounding nations; indeed, Judah will also be included when Jerusalem is besieged. (3) Moreover, on that day, I will make Jerusalem a heavy burden for all the nations, and all who try to carry it will be seriously injured; yet all the peoples of the earth will be assembled against it. (9) So, on that day, I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”
The main actors in the Ezekiel 38/39 war are Russia, Iran and Turkey. Because of changes to their economies that have taken place just recently, they are almost at a critical stage. All are looking for relief, and therein lies the temptation. The coalition they have formed has never existed prior to this time in history.
Although each of those nations are “aiding” Syria with its conflict, they are positioning forces around Israel. It’s unknown what the actual trigger will be that starts the invasion, but one day soon, they will attack Israel with everything they have. They will be after the wealth that is there; however, God will be the ultimate defender, and they will be soundly defeated. It will be very obvious the victory is a divine one, and God is in control.
One theory that sets off the attack is that when the Rapture takes place, there will be enough disruption in the world that in the confusion, the attack will begin. It is stated in Zechariah 3 that all nations will come against Israel.
Someone might say where is the United States? One scenario is the main leadership is no longer there, and the government will be in total chaos, unable to function properly. Another is that the United States has been attacked right after the Rapture, and is defenseless. What ever the reason, Israel is on their own, and the Father is their only hope. Thing is, there’s no one better to have on their side other than the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
It will all be a time that will lead into the tribulation. It officially begins when there is a peace treaty signed by the antichrist (Daniel 9:27), however, that peace was never meant to be kept. Things will get progressively worse until the mid-point of the Wrath, and the antichrist will desecrate the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem and declare himself god. This will be the abomination of desolation spoken of in Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11 and by Jesus Himself in Matthew 24:15. There is no temple right now, but it’s believed part of the treaty is to have the Jews build a new one.
No one wants to be around that last 3 ½ years; and in fact, no one should even want to be here for any part of the 7-years. The good news is, you don’t have to be here.
Accept Jesus; confess you are a sinner as we all are, and ask Him to forgive you. Ask Him to be your Savior and believe He made the complete sacrifice we do not deserve, cannot earn and cannot buy. He will not turn anyone away who seriously seeks His. The alternative is eternity in the Lake of Fire.
All the events described in this message will happen. God does not lie, nor does He change His mind. End any worry or anxiety about what’s going on today and accept Jesus. These events could start at any minute, as we do not know the day or hour the Savior will call His Church up to be with Him in the air. The Church (True Believers from all over the world) will be gone in less than a second. You can make your reservation right now, and you will be ready whenever the call comes.
Shalom Aleclem! (Peace be with You)
